Javier Torrens, the Chief Executive Officer of Carbel, is a seasoned leader with a rich background in the transportation and logistics industry. His entrepreneurial journey began in 2004 when he founded Torrens Transportation & Logistics (TT&L), drawing upon years of invaluable experience. Javier’s career trajectory includes notable stints at Pilot Freight Services and the establishment of IGL Worldwide in 2002.

Recognizing the evolving needs of clients in a rapidly changing landscape, Javier embarked on a mission to provide comprehensive solutions. In 2004, he expanded TT&L’s horizons by founding Carbel and United Customs, marking the inception of a full-service transportation and logistics operation. Javier’s expertise didn’t go unnoticed, as Pilot Freight Services (corporate) entrusted him with the leadership of the Miami station, further solidifying his reputation as a dynamic industry leader.

Today, Javier’s visionary leadership has propelled Carbel to the forefront of the global transportation and logistics arena. Under his guidance, Carbel has evolved into a full-service organization offering a myriad of solutions, including domestic and international air freight, ocean import/export services, logistics, home delivery, retail services, and customs brokerage. With a relentless commitment to excellence, Javier has positioned Carbel as a trusted partner capable of delivering customized solutions to clients worldwide.

Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Economics from FIU, Javier seamlessly blends academic prowess with practical experience to drive Carbel’s success. Born in Spain, Javier brings a diverse international perspective to his role, enriching the company’s global outlook.

Barbara Fernandez

Barbara Fernandez serves as the Chief Operations Officer at Carbel, playing a pivotal role in the company’s success since its inception in 2004. With a wealth of experience in logistics, transportation, and warehousing, Barbara’s journey with Carbel began as its General Manager, where she has consistently demonstrated her expertise and leadership prowess.

Before joining Carbel, Barbara honed her skills in the industry through positions at Sysco Food Services, where she was an integral part of the logistical operations team, and Miami Operational Forwarders. Her hands-on experience and deep understanding of the intricacies of the field have been instrumental in shaping Carbel’s operational excellence and driving its growth trajectory.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Barbara finds joy in spending quality time with her son and daughter, and exploring the diverse beaches of Florida with friends and family. An avid reader, she cherishes moments of tranquility with a good book in hand.

Barbara’s dual nationality, encompassing both Spanish and American heritage, further enriches her perspective and adds depth to her leadership at Carbel. Chief Financial Officer

Christian Philco

Christian Philco is the Chief Financial Officer at Carbel, embodying a unique blend of financial expertise and hands-on involvement in all aspects of company operations. With over 35 years of experience and dual nationality in Peru and the United States, Christian brings a global perspective and bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English to his role.

Throughout his distinguished career, Christian has demonstrated a commitment to excellence in financial management, strategic planning, and asset safeguarding. His expertise spans various regions, including the United States and Latin America, where he has navigated diverse financial landscapes and regulatory environments.

As CFO, Christian takes pride in his proactive approach, actively engaging in all facets of the company’s operations while fulfilling his core CFO responsibilities. From financial planning and treasury management to mergers, acquisitions, and investments, Christian ensures that Carbel remains financially sound and strategically positioned for growth.

Beyond the boardroom, Christian leads a fulfilling life enriched by his diverse interests and hobbies. An avid tennis player, he competes in two leagues in Miami every week, showcasing his competitive spirit and love for the sport. In addition, Christian indulges his passion for comic books, immersing himself in the captivating worlds of superheroes and villains. He also finds solace in music and movies, with a particular fondness for sci-fi films that transport him to otherworldly realms.

Systems Manager

Kevin Keohane

Kevin Keohane is the Systems Manager at Carbel, where his extensive background in operations and project management ensures seamless integration and ongoing optimization of our systems. Originally hailing from Danvers, Massachusetts, Kevin graduated from St. Michaels College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, laying the groundwork for a successful career path.

Kevin’s professional journey led him to spend the first half of his career in operations before transitioning to the Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) industry in 2005. Over the course of 15 years, he excelled in roles focused on selling hardware and software solutions, honing his expertise in system integration and project management.

In 2020, Kevin joined Carbel, bringing his wealth of experience to bear in managing systems integration projects. His operational background uniquely positions him to bridge the gap between customer data requirements and warehouse operations, ensuring seamless communication and optimal efficiency.

As Systems Manager, Kevin is responsible for ongoing changes and improvements in Carbel’s Warehouse Management System (WMS), ensuring that it evolves to meet the dynamic needs of our customers. His dedication to excellence and customer satisfaction drives him to continuously refine processes and enhance reporting capabilities.

Outside of the office, Kevin finds joy in traveling, whether it’s indulging in weekend getaways or embarking on week-long cruises. He also cherishes weekends spent with family at the beach or boating along the Intercoastal, embracing the relaxation and rejuvenation that comes from quality time spent in nature.

Facilities and Compliance Manager

With 26 years of invaluable experience in logistics operations, Marien De Tullio brings a wealth of expertise and dedication to his role as Facilities and Compliance Manager at Carbel. Known for her unwavering work ethic, loyalty, and dedication, Marien is a cornerstone of our organization, ensuring smooth operations and regulatory compliance.

Born in Cuba and immigrating at the age of 15, Marien’s journey is a testament to resilience and adaptability. Her diverse background enriches our team, bringing a unique perspective to every aspect of her work.

Outside of the office, Marien finds joy in his family life. Married with three children and two beloved dogs, she cherishes spending quality time with her loved ones above all else. Whether it’s traveling to new destinations, enjoying movies and music, or simply sharing moments together, the family remains at the center of Marien’s life.
